The Men’s Shed based in Steeple, Antrim have created a beautiful garden for the Narnia themed garden competition at the Garden Show Ireland. The show runs until Sunday at Antrim Castle Gardens and is well worth a visit to check out the creativity and talent on display. Whilst the men didn’t claim the top prize this year, they had lots of fun creating it!
Whilst enjoying a well deserved rest during the show, Chris Kelly explained why he goes to the Men’s Shed: “I enjoy the company and the camaraderie I get going to the Men’s Shed. We all have different skills and it takes us all to pull together to create something like this Narnia garden. There’s a lot of work involved, but it’s relaxed and we have a good time doing it.”
If you’re feeling inspired, the Men’s Shed are holding an open day on Tuesday 9 May from 10.00am to 1.00pm. If you’d like to find out a bit more about what happens at the Men’s Shed and projects like the Narnia garden, call in for a cup of tea and a chat. There will also be hanging baskets, plants and containers for sale.
